Free anti-spiking kits are being given out in Carlisle city centre in the latest move to keep nights out as safe as possible in Cumbria.

Advice on the issue will also be offered by police and partners – with these measures soon to be rolled-out elsewhere in the county.

Due to concerns raised by residents in Carlisle about speeding vehicles in our streets, PC 3388 and PC 3387 have been out today conducting speed monitoring checks around Brampton Road and the A689 Kingstown bypass.

The Mini Police from Thomlinson Junior School have been learning about Road Safety this term. As part of the Community Engagement element to their learning they were out on High Street today monitoring speeds through Wigton.

Speed monitoring checks were taking place in Kirkbampton and Dalston today. The West Rural PCSO and a Police Staff Volunteer attached to our Roads Policing Department caught 20 offenders showing exactly why this work is being requested by rural communities.

PC 2608 and PC 3323 have been out today targeting speeders in areas that have been identified as areas of concern. These include Wigton road near Richard Rose School and London road.

PCSO 5364 Kirkpatrick was outside Great Orton Primary this morning to say 'hello' to the kids as they arrived and make sure that cars weren't being parked on the keep clear markings. Concerns have been raised by parents and neighbours about parking standards outside the school.

🚨 Random Act of Kindness 👮‍♂️

On Tuesday afternoon a kind member of the public bought our coffee, we would just like to say thankyou, it was very much appreciated.

Officers from the Special Constabulary work closely with our Neighbourhood Policing Teams throughout the year. Tonight they have been on foot in Harraby, conducted rural crime patrol north of Carlisle , searched for a missing child and conducted City Centre Safer Streets patrol.
