Incredibly exciting to celebrate Dallas City & County earning the distinction of having functionally ended veteran homelessness. Clearly due to the hard work of so many - who all acknowledge the work is not done yet, but what an amazing milestone.

As Matt Goodman writes here, I have submitted a city charter amendment proposal to move municipal Election Day from May to November. This will save the city hundreds of thousands of dollars and help create conditions to increase voter turnout.

So proud of our D1 award winners tonight for Preservation Dallas preservation achievements across the city like D1 resident Edwin Cabaniss restoring Longhorn Ballroom and especially right in the heart of D1 the restoration of Cenzo’s by the Dolezal and Sherman families.

Thank you Chair Adam R. Bazaldua for bringing this resolution to the full city council. Texas’ SB4 legislation will make it harder for public safety officials to do their jobs to serve all of Dallas, especially in districts like D1. I will be supporting this when it comes to a vote.
