The Aged Care workforce has been changing since increasing care minutes in residential aged care facilities last month. How does removing roles and higher workloads increase quality of care? This is why workers need oversight into managing care minutes Anika Wells MP Mark Butler MP

Through our survey, we have seen changes in care minutes have meant residential aged care providers have been unfairly increasing workloads for staff. We've shared the results with the government, and are asking for worker oversight of care minutes. Anika Wells MP Mark Butler MP

Your Aged Care Union is surveying workers regarding mandated increases in care time minutes for aged care facility residents. We have seen these changes, aimed at improving quality care, have actually resulted in LESS staff caring for residents???Anika Wells MP Mark Butler MP

Yesterday United Workers Union aged care members came together to join Yes23 celebrations across the country!
As union members we stand for justice, unity and solidarity - standing with our First Nations workers in all industries is union business!

While this pay correction is a major step towards recognising direct care workers in aged care, it is not fair that aged care workers in cleaning, laundry, catering and maintenance have been left behind.
ALL aged care workers have been underpaid and overworked for too long.

Gig companies like Mable exploit legal loopholes to rip off disability and aged care workers, and pay them below the minimum wage.

We've committed to closing those loopholes. It's not radical to say that NDIS workers deserve minimum rights.

I take exception to this headline in the AFR today - it’s not problematic to ensure that migrant workers aren’t exploited.

The memorandum of understanding for temporary skilled workers in aged care is designed to increase retention and prevent poor treatment at work.

'Consultants have advised aged care providers to exploit the system by considering which residents generate “higher profit margins” and urged them to “get your money now” before new regulations are introduced.'
