I was honored to attend the opening of the new On store in Portland and meet community members who are making a difference, including Izzy Alvarado, Founder of Go the Distance, a nonprofit that promotes recovery through fitness.

I want to thank Officer Nathan Kirby-Glatkowski for speaking to the media about the arrest of a prolific graffiti vandal. This is an issue PPB is aware of and addressing.

Great to stand with our local partners to discuss ongoing efforts to combat stolen vehicles and retail theft. We have made great strides but will continue to work collaboratively with each other and the community to address and reduce these crimes.

This was a violent encounter that could have ended an officer’s life. This sends a powerful message and I am thrilled the person responsible will be held accountable.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I stayed busy with stops at the Sunshine Division and the new ice skating rink in Downtown Portland. Happy Holidays to all!
