Crows are teaching their fledglings how to dunk biscuits I put out today, in the birdbath. Just enough so they're soft but not falling apart. They are very silent when with the youngsters to not attract attention. Love them so much. ❤️Looks like just 2 babies this year.

As an Artist [painter & illustrator], I love collecting old original paintings that I find at garage sales +thrift shops. Got this still life at Goodwill today. It's amazing bc the lamp I have underneath it looks like it's shining on the items in the painting, a quirk of luck. ❤️

Humans shouldn't intervene in Nature Being Nature but today, I threw down w a hawk trying to get away with a flicker in its talons. I just couldn't NOT try [to save it]. Sadly, the hawk won today. I hope it wasn't a female flicker w/a nest full of chicks. ☹️

Sawed down 2 heirloom apple trees today that died of fireblight. Next to each other. Rarely have apple trees get this, and while it's sad, I now know 'no apple trees there'. I will transplant a big basswood tree into that spot tomorrow. Bees love their blossoms. A great tree. 👍
