Medical gaslighting is real. For two weeks, I’ve experienced numbness and tingling on my left side. It became so frightening that I went to the ER. They tried to convince me that I was just stressed and anxious. The nurse suggested that it could be radiation from cellphone use.

Someone explain to me why programs for disabled seniors don’t also exist for younger disabled ppl

Trying to find meal delivery help for someone & all the programs are for age 60+

Young disabled ppl don’t magically have more social supports & need support to be able to get old!

Story of my life. I never could catch up. I survived but never thrived. The resilience of children is vastly overestimated, and what doesn't kill you just makes you more traumatised, not stronger.

One thing I would love for doctors to understand is that by the time a patient has been chronically ill for a number of years, they likely have many layers of medical trauma.

This can affect the way they come across in an appointment.

It should be illegal for people who aren’t chronically ill to tell chronically ill people how to deal with their illnesses. 😐

Someone asked me why so many young people have tattoos and I was like 'the earth is literally on fire, governments are collapsing, inflation is out of control, there's a plague, why not have pretty picture on arm?' And he went 'when you put it like that it makes perfect sense'

If you are disabled and you had to cancel plans today to take care of disability issues, you are not unreliable. You are doing what you need to do to take care of yourself. You are putting your disability first, and that is okay.
