An Accessible & Inclusive Community

The City, qathet Regional District & Public Library have developed a plan to help each organization identify, remove & prevent barriers to create a community where people of all ages & abilities can fully participate.

Some of the energy saving improvements we've made at the Complex:

▪️insulated & reflective ceilings in Hap Parker & smaller rink
▪️energy efficient ice-making system
▪️ice plant heat recovery system
▪️natural gas condensing boiler
▪️direct digital controls
▪️pool heat exchangers

We have a growing fleet of electric vehicles, with six on the road and one on the ice:

🚚 2 vans
🚗 2 cars
🚴‍♂️ 2 e-bikes
🏒 1 electric Zamboni

ℹ️ If you have too much garbage and overstuff, keep it loose by putting out an extra bag on collection day for a $5 tag or you have the option of purchasing a second cart for $80.
