Expect Delays on E. Alisal St. - Work will begin tomorrow, April 3rd, on E. Alisal Street as part of the Alisal Greening and Beautification Project. There may be partial lane closures and detours for pedestrians. Please follow all directional signs and watch for personnel.

René Mendez will be Salinas' new City Manager! The City Council approved his employment contract at tonight's Council meeting. City Manager Mendez is currently the City Manager of Watsonville. Previously, he was City Manager of Gonzalez for 17 years.

Alvarez High School was placed on lockdown today, March 14th, as a precautionary measure. Salinas Police responded to an incident on Nantucket, near Alvarez High. The incident did not occur on campus.

Rumors that there was an active shooter on campus or in the area are false.

Reports of Road Flooding - Our teams are actively addressing reports of flooding in Salinas. Expect some delays, drive slowly, and watch for public works and public safety personnel.
