Alex Garland once again doesn’t disappoint. #CivilWar is an unsettling, crude, in-your-face, boots-on-the-ground journey, that’ll leave you reeling. Kirsten Dunst & Cailee Spaeny are great, while Wagner Mora is fantastic. Sound work is terrific. A film that’s truly scary as fuck.

Wow, #CivilWarMovie is brutally intense, uncomfortable & haunting. Kirsten Dunst is great. The final 30 minutes is almost non-stop tension (that Jesse Plemons scene had me shifting in my seat for over five minutes). Excellent sound mixing. This is gonna stick with me for awhile.

How f*cking good is Cailee Spaeny? In everything she does. Ever.

Civil War is a masterclass in tension that had me in its grip every step of the way. Alex Garland has proven since Ex Machina his confidence as a storyteller, and here again he serves compelling characters, memorable images, and scene after scene of tremendous power. I loved it.

I thought CIVIL WAR was fantastic and the Jesse Plemons scene that gets teased in the trailer is the most tense, nerve-wracking single scene I can remember since, maybe, the Russian Roulette scene in THE DEERHUNTER
