This was Bow's first Hollywood film and it's a bit of a dull affair. She had the thankless role as the emotional crutch of both romantic leads but her charisma is undeniable even at this early date.

MAYTIME (1923) was based on the hit operetta and was given a lavish budget.

It's mainly remembered today because the second female lead was played by some unknown named Clara Bow.

Thought lost for decades, the first reels were discovered in New Zealand in 2009.

Tomorrow, I will be reviewing MAYTIME, an adaptation of the smash hit operetta. In the film, the hero is separated from his love and forced to marry his second choice, a pre-flapper Clara Bow.

So, I went with good old $4000, and it wound up being fairly easy. Sam still had a chance to catch me, but he needed the last $2000 clue to do so. But I saw the face of my silent movie crush, my sweet baby Clara Bow, and it felt like a sign that the Jeopardy gods were on my side
