9. In a separate email, obtained exclusively by my newsletter, we learn that the meeting was set up by Dr. Riittakerttu Kaltiala of the Cass Advisory Board whom Dr. Patrick Hunter has worked with him many times. It is hard to believe his affiliation was unknown to the team.

8. Dr. Cass responds, saying that she was unaware of Dr. Patrick Hunter's political affiliations and that was the only meeting she took.

However... two things contradict this and may cause people to raise eyebrows at her claim.

5. 'Age and stage' and 'individual need' are actually the way that most transgender care is handled - highly tailored and individualized care that matches each patient's needs.

This is not, however, what the report called for originally or what is happening in the UK.

4. Contrast the statement of 'blockers and hormones should be available by young people at different ages and stages, based on individual need' with Recommendation 8 - it is clearly out of step with her own review:

She responds that nothing supports that, and that blockers were actually being given 'too late' by the NHS, and that blockers and HRT should be made available based on individual need.

2. The interview, first reported on by TransSafetyNow, was done with a group of LGBTQ+ organizations who asked Dr. Cass questions about her review.

The answers are sure to further embroil the review in controversy.
