The 1st Rent Act was passed in that year. I forget what it was called. I had to consult it once & was interested to see phrasing that survived all the way through to the last iteration - Rent Act 1977.

It limited rents & afforded some security of tenure.

Insomnia. I scour Netflix for stuff worth watching, usually unsuccessfully. No exception is Heat. What a load of cliched crap! Pacino & De Niro the corny tough guys. Their women only exist to prop up the macho rubbish. The snitch. A superfluous psycho lobbed in ๐Ÿคฎ

Here in ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Kingโ€™s day is coming up. Folks wear orange, kids sell stuff from little stalls on the pavement, house music booms from party boats on the canals (you can shoot at them with water pistols ๐Ÿ™‚) the royals go on relaxed walkabout. Itโ€™s fun. Not even a hint of nationalism.

Rock, paper, scissors. The rock (the executive) encountered the paper yesterday (the judiciary). It fought the law & the law won. Seems itโ€™s not a contempt to stand outside a court with a placard proclaiming a principle dating back to 1670.

Good news.

If I were football dictator for a year or two I would invest heavily in good playing surfaces. Nice, flat, well mown, not over-used pitches. Or artificial surfaces. Iโ€™m talking about Hackney marshes-type footie. Bobbly mud is the enemy of good football.
