Fish farming is often thought to be efficient, but for every 100 grams of protein fed to an intensively farmed salmon, only 28g ends up in what people eat. For other farmed fish, the proportion is even lower. 🐟 #RethinkFish

In the UK we'll be calling out the Government’s shocking backtracking on delivering a live export ban. Plus, we’ll be launching a brand new campaign video - this is a sneak peek! More: bit.ly/3N9qUnK
Yesterday’s Defra UK announcement that the Bill to #BanLiveExports has been dropped is disgraceful and very bad news for UK farmed animals.
Compassion in World Farming’s Global CEO Philip Lymbery has written to Thérèse Coffey to express their outrage.
It is a betrayal of trust that the Government has decided that its own Bill to #BanLiveExports should now be abandoned.
This cruel & outdated trade has been a stain on British animal welfare standards for far too long.

BREAKING: The Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill was introduced in 2021 to #BanLiveExports from Great Britain but it's been DROPPED.
Instead, this manifesto promise has been delegated to the uncertain future of a possible private member's Bill.
New campaign launching ASAP.
