Today, our CEO, Heather Ryan, attended the Food, Fuel, Fertilizer Global Summit. Heather had the honour of moderating a discussion with industry experts titled Powering Tomorrow: Innovation in Saskatchewan’s Energy Transition. Thank you to the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce for the invitation.
The underlying theme of 2024 Turnaround is ‘teamwork.’ By working together – as colleagues, peers and partners – team members deliver on the collective goal of a safe and reliable operation at the Co-op Refinery.

DYK? Our Co-op Refinery in Regina will welcome an additional 2,200 skilled trades personnel to the facility as part of 2024 Turnaround. An estimated 3,200 workers will be on site during peak times.
In 2023, FCL undertook a project to reduce the number of unwanted or unneeded print jobs in our offices. Through this initiative, 48,254 fewer pages were printed compared to 2022. This is the equivalent to a one-year carbon sequestration of a forest of 361 trees. #EarthMonth
Safety fuels our Co-op Refinery’s 2024 Turnaround. The Turnaround team continues to emphasize the importance of planning and executing the project safely to keep workers, the site and the community safe.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we ensure the partners we work with adhere to responsible business practices and are committed to protecting the environment. We are also engaged in initiatives to combat forced child labour. #EarthMonth
The Girls Rock Saskatoon (GRCS) is a Community Investment Fund (CIF) recipient, receiving $5,000 from our employee giving committee. GRCS helps attendees learn an instrument while increasing their creativity and self-confidence. Learn more about CIF: bit.ly/2XdknA7
DYK? 2024 Turnaround, at our Co-op Refinery, will require an estimated 840,000 person hours at an investment of more than $140 million, providing benefits to the local economy.
We’re excited to have six Co-op products named as finalists for the Retail Council of Canada Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards! These products will be going toe-to-toe with brands from across the country. Winners will be announced at a gala on May 29. #RCCGrandPrix
FCL has focused on implementing environmentally friendly alternatives to plastics for years. Progress has been made to source alternative options and to reduce excess packaging. In 2023, we announced we'll no longer source plastic checkout bags for local Co-ops. #EarthMonth

FCL’s Community Builders program was developed to recognize team members who give back through volunteerism. Kathy Gallant, Communications Associate, regularly offers her time to CFCR 90.5FM Community Radio. Thanks to Kathy’s dedication, FCL donated $1,000 to CFCR.
