Localisation is core to World Food Programme's work. We will save lives & help restore local systems as long as needed.

WFP urged for months for the opening of more border crossings into #Gaza to scale up critical food assistance. WFP will engage to clarify with the authorities security and logistics arrangements so we can move swiftly to avert famine. Our food and trucks are ready to go.

13 years of conflict in #Syria and hunger is at record levels. #WFP will only support 1 million people - 1/3 of the severely food insecure- due to lack of funding. We must reach those that need us and invest in early recovery to reduce needs. A win-win for donors and communities.

Over 1 million people in Gaza – half the population – are facing catastrophic hunger and starvation.
