Canada has a choice.

Do we want to talk about the housing crisis, or do we want to solve it?

As for where the federal government stands: It's time to build.

NEW: PM Trudeau says his $6B housing infrastructure fund “will flow” with or without the Ford government’s buy in.

Trudeau says every province that participates “fully” will get the housing enabling infrastructure. Otherwise it will go to cities.

This is a curious take. Perhaps I might help:
1. Housing & Transportation Planning go together like peas & carrots;
2. 94% of Canada's hsg is provided by the private market;

6/? It’s hard to think of a more enticing target for corruption than sprawl approvals. By improperly rubber-stamping an application to extend a settlement boundary & bulldoze habitat, a small town councilor could confer $100,000,000s in windfall wealth on a land speculator

With land at risk of expropriation in Wilmot Township, you've likely heard the terms 'prime farmland' and 'class 1 farmland' being thrown around... but what does that really mean?

Have a look at the graphic to learn more about classes of soils. 🧵1/4

NEW: As of today, British Columbia, Canada becomes the first province/state in North America to allow mass timber buildings (aka “engineered wood”) up to 18 storeys in the building code without special processes (the previous code allowed 12 storeys). Hopefully this spreads fast.

I've had a first look at Bill 185 and the new proposed Provincial Planning Statement and WOW ... there's a reason why the Ontario government spent hours feeding reporters its spin on these laws before releasing their text to the public. Massive dangers hidden in this text. 🧵👇
