Francesco Valentino is this week's researcher DK Frie Forsk.fond 😊
Francesco is being interviewed about the project he will lead when he (re-)joins DAWN later this year.
Major paper day! 🥳 In this paper, we present the major work on collecting, reducing and processing *all* spectroscopic data observed with NASA Webb Telescope / ESA Webb Telescope and examine ~500 (!) galaxies within the first giga-year of cosmic time 🌌

More candy for our Danish followers who haven't got the time for reading Albert Sneppen's latest paper, 'Kilonova evolution -- the rapid emergence of spectral features'. Here's a 200 second summary by Bertil F. Dorch 息子の名前は灵です Мы любим мир 🌍🕊:

Ting-Yi Lu, PhD student at DAWN, recently published a paper quantifying how likely bright galaxies are to trace bubbles during the Epoch of Reionization:

DAWN - The Cosmic Dawn Center👉🧵Et af de seneste mysterier, rumteleskopet James Webb har givet os, er disse små, røde prikker, kendt blandt fantasifulde astronomer som 'Little, Red Dots'. Endnu ved vi ikke præcis, hvad det er, udover fjerne galakser.
Congratulations to Francesco Valentino who has just received the Sapere Aude grant from DK Frie Forsk.fond to come to DAWN and start up a group researching massive galaxies in the early Universe :)

Right now Bitten Gullberg, Carlsberg Fellow at DAWN - The Cosmic Dawn Center, is talking about JWST and starburst galaxies at Cosmic Noon at Planetarium Copenhagen.
Like ripe fruit on a cosmic vine, two quiescent galaxies hang on a large, extended structure in the early Universe.
This shows that such galaxies do not necessarily form in cluster cores and are quenched by the environments.

Got no time for reading our articles?
Fret not; now you can watch Daniele Bjørn Malesani explain in his own words.
