DHS & San Juan DFO Roberto Vaquero chair the Caribbean Border Interagency Group (CBIG) – a @dhsgov, U.S. Department of Justice, DEA HQ, and D.S.P. partnership to fight transnational crime. CBIG briefed me on our operations in the region to seize narcotics, guns, & currency, & to stop human smuggling.

.CBP AMO’s Caribbean Air and Marine Branch is the only federal law enforcement agency in the region with integrated air and marine interdiction capabilities. I joined AMO Aguadilla in the air, and the St. Thomas Marine Unit on the ground, to hear about successes & challenges.

I held a Town Hall in St. Thomas to show my gratitude to and hear from the #DHSWorkforce . We discussed potential ways to boost recruitment, retention, and well-being for those serving in USVI.
