We had a full and frank discussion with the DDRB this afternoon. I’m not going to be drawn on what we said but our core evidence is here bma.org.uk/media/42ukwmhj… they have work to do on pay, pay and pay.

Public service announcement: when you do your online shop with Sainsbury’s and order a banana you now get a bunch rather than singles. (From the person who got 6 bunches of bananas in their shop last night - and was told we weren’t the only customers with bagloads of them)

It is right that NHS England has acted on our call and reversed their decision to stop NHS staff from accessing vital mental health support. We now need assurance that the review will lead to equal or better provision of mental health support in the future bma.org.uk/bma-media-cent…

Message from government; ‘save money now on non essentials’, NHS England response ‘easy, cancel staff mental health services without a replacement, they’re expendable’. Tells you everything you need to know about the NHS as an employer. Crazy in such a hard pressed service.

This seems short sighted, pennywise and poundfoolish. I haven't seen the financial arguments and justification, but I have heard that lots of staff have found this invaluable. We recommended tailored pathway for support as part retaining staff in Jan 24. rcem.ac.uk/wp-content/upl…

Reverse this ill considered decision Chris Hopson Burnt out, traumatised doctors struggling with mental health problems caused by their workplace need robust support away from their workplace. Removal of this resource could be career ending for doctors who need it.

Doctors are voting with their feet after 15 years of pay cuts and worsening conditions. The government need to restore pay now for all doctors. All eyes on the government negotiating with juniors and SAS colleagues and all eyes on the DDRB this year for all of us.

A huge thank you to every consultant that gave us a mandate and took action. You have achieved a great starting point towards pay restoration. All eyes on the DDRB now. Consultants will not accept pay erosion ever again. We expect to see our pay restored going forwards.

.BMA Consultants members in England have accepted the pay offer & DDRB (pay review body) changes following industrial action

This does not mean we have reached the end of the road

This is the first step - now the DDRB needs to address long-term loss of pay members have endured

Pay increases will be applied in coming months but backdated to March. We will be watching closely for this year’s award from the pay review body (DDRB).

We’re committed to fixing pay now and for the future.

83% (62% turnout) of eligible consultant members voted in favour of the offer and the BMA’s consultants committee has now formally accepted it.

After months of unprecedented industrial action and campaigning, months of negotiations, and weeks of voting by BMA members, today we can announce that the latest Government offer on pay and DDRB reform for consultants in England has been accepted.

It is not the job of the workforce to subsidise the service by working for cheap, especially when it comes to filling staffing gaps due to poor pay, terms, conditions; charge your worth or say no, do not be guilt tripped, *this is a matter of purely political choice* please RT

Husband laughing at my sheltered ass. Listening to rage against the machine in the car & I commented it was a weirdly nice thing for such a band to be singing about having a pocket full of shells. Only for him to dash the image and point out its shotgun shells not seashells.
