Some of us have been out of school for a while and may have forgotten our American history.

Protesting injustice and expressing our opinions is part of our American tradition and what makes this, in fact, a free country. That’s what the Constitution is all about.

I’m a tenured, Black, queer, disabled professor at UW-Madison. I support my students’ right to protest & I will always put my body on the line to protect them if needed. Today it was needed. Shame on this university, the chancellor & every cop involved in this mess.
