At On Air Fest, Ira Glass says This American Life’s audience shrunk 20% because of this change. He said it hurt to go from saying the show had 4.5 million listeners a week to 3.5 million. “I’m in favor of accuracy,” he said of the change. “I’m not in favor of losing money.”

It was genuinely the best job I’ve ever had, one that I didn’t have to really set an alarm for because I never dreaded waking up for it. The work was fun, the people were great and I’ll genuinely miss it.
