My ‘3 good things in nature’ yesterday are:

1. The uplifting sight of the first apple blossom in our garden.
2. A self seeded bluebell appearing in our wildflower patch.
3. The amazing way a worm travels over soil.

My ‘3 good things in nature from y/day are:

1. The magnolia petals strewn across the floor like feathers of a magical bird.
2. The spring reflections in the canal
3. The will, tenacity and desire of the small plant growing alone from a solid stone wall.

Phonics takes the meaning out of story it sees words as sounds and in doing so reduces our understanding of our selves, each other and the world around us!

Storytelling on the other hand engages parts of the brain that brings words to life!

Excited to be heading to the Midlands this weekend running my 'Becoming a Storyteller' workshop with Fruits Of The Forest-healthy and happy children- I'm always inspired to help others bring story into their work as outdoor educators!

During play every interaction, every scenario, becomes a canvas upon which children paint their interpretations, piecing together fragments of experience to form a cohesive understanding of the world at large.

The Forest School principles all directly point towards the development of relationships- self, others, nature, that’s why our practice is with small numbers and over long term. You cant build meaningful relationships in 40 minutes with 30+ people!
