I often, and I mean often, think on how I might have too much ‘kiyam’ in my bones to be in the law game.

Now we know how Twitter would have been circa 1994.

Taught last class of the semester today. A hard semester. Made a little sweeter by some recognition from students. Grateful, as I was almost all kiyam’ed out.

Me each day thinking I will get into the generative parts of my work, rather than administrative and interpersonal tasks:

Settlers used to just dump their garbage off the bank of the river where the Hotel MacDonald sits, as the first (literal) garbage dump. Rundle Park is a reclaimed dump site, right on the banks of the river.

Native folks weren’t always super holy 24/7. We very much so were irreverent, goofy, idiosyncratic, temperamental, every other emotion human beings everywhere displayed, but white lenses wanted us solidly in the ‘sacred’ box I guess, which is almost sad, ‘cuz our humor was legend

Being direct and meaning what you say can seem perplexing to those in a place where everyone speaks in riddles.
