Almost every single academics on my TL tweeting is terrified that the temperature of the discourse pushed by many academics, politicians and journalists ('all protestors are antisemitic terrorists and criminals') is going to get someone hurt or killed by cops.

The way WKCR journalists are handling copaganda (insisting on confirmation and verification before repeating tropes and rumors) versus the way CNN is not only uncritically repeating police statements but marveling at their tactics is truly something to behold.

They do not need this number of police. They are just showing off their equipment and number of personnel.
