This weekend, we talked to neighbors in Richmond Hill in southeast Queens about how we need a #PeoplesBudget w/ #CareNotCuts & fully funded schools, libraries, CUNY, childcare & housing. We collected dozens of postcards from neighbors asking Mayor Eric Adams to STOP slashing services!

New Yorkers are sick of Mayor Eric Adams’s budget chaos! This weekend, we canvassed in Richmond Hill and South Queens to fight for a #PeoplesBudget #CareNotCuts for housing, libraries, CUNY, schools, childcare & other essential services.

I can’t make it to the mayor’s press conference this morning, but I hope someone will ask him, as the NYPD howls about press coverage and the importance of accurate information, why the body-worn camera footage of the officers who killed Win Rosario still hasn’t been released.

Eric Adams not only revived police units that were disbanded in 2020 for their disproportionate abuse against Black and brown New Yorkers, he revived stop and frisk. Since he became mayor, 97% of all stops and searches have been on Black and Latino New Yorkers.

Underreported that Governor Kathy Hochul's lobbying records show her office met with real estate *260 times* in a year — there are only 250 work days! She hasn't met w/ tenants ONCE.

This week,Governor Kathy Hochul said she'd meet with 'anyone who is serious about making progress' on housing.

Since her election, she’s NEVER met with our coalition of 80+ tenant groups — but her office met with real estate 260 times in 2022 alone.

Today, we requested a meeting.

Our hearts are heavy with the passing of our dear friend and colleague Carl Lipscombe. While our hearts ache from this immense loss, we find solace in celebrating the profound impact Carl had on so many lives.

GFoD, Conaq had a meeting with DRUM #CeasefireNow, an organization working with immigrants from #SouthAsia & #IndoCaribbean . The meeting saw sharing of experiences, as well as common struggles and strategies by different groups present, followed by questions and answers.
