Stories of Survival - 'Britain's Rarest' is my image of a grey long-eared bat flying over its dwindling meadow habitat in Devon, England. This has won the Untold Stories category in Stories of Survival, which supports one of my favourite charities WVI. Shot with Bat Conservation Trust

The impact of bat collisions with cars is a global issue. We were out visiting cenotes in mexico today, one of which held a population of 200+ bats. Directly outside it we found this dead bat along it's flight path/road. Further consideration needs to be given at a global level.

Delighted to have been part of this chapter.

This is a species that is almost always overlooked because of how frequently it is recorded during surveys. We still know very little about these species.

My dad's idea of a good 'dad joke'. He puts a fake sheep in the garden to help graze the grass. Weird thing is, at night it still has the reflective eyes so it just stares back at you!

Went out last night to listen to multiple corncrakes calling. Delighted to be able to hear such an amazing bird in the landscape. Also tried my luck with the thermal camera and caught this juvenile ringed plover.
