Whenever someone asks me, 'What wildflower is easy to grow & good for bees?'....which happens quite a lot, my answer is AlWAYS the dandelion.

When these fitties grow in clumps, that bursting yellow is just magic & bees, like this buff tailed bumblebee love them.

Yesterday I was in Burgerbrug at Huiberts Bio Bloembollen organic bulb nursery in search for bumblebees. With 7 degrees and 4 beaufort, hail and rain I didnot see any bee. The scene however..... Buy organic bulbs, the non organic ones are drenched in pesticides.

In search for Bumblebee queens in Delft. At 50 metres from these beehives a large crocusfield completely lacked queens. 700m away plenty of them. Are there islands around beehives where bumblebees are completely outcompeted? Bumblebee Conservation Trust
