The vaccine will be vital in our efforts to defeat meningitis in the region, which saw a 30% rise in annual cases in 2023. The vaccine's development shows the power of collaboration & innovation. Huge thanks also to Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, @Gavi, PATH & partners for the great support.
The rollout of the world’s first multivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine in Nigeria is yet another indication of what we can achieve with partnerships. I want to thank the SerumInstituteIndia for this milestone and for the enduring commitment to the health of all in Africa.

Today, countries are learning more about monitoring readiness for malaria vaccine introduction, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance application process among others.
