Nearly 7 months into this genocide, after 40K martyred, 15 thousand of whom are children, schools, hospitals, housing all decimated- the world’s attention is finally uniformly turning twds a ceasefire bc of…7 foreign nationals? Is there a word for this feeling of hope & disgust?

Americans are setting themselves on fire because they’re getting evicted. People are being charged $100,000 for surgeries. People’s student loans are going up over time, even when they pay monthly. But we’re spending billions sending bombs and jets to a genocidal apartheid state.

How is it ethical for away rotations to take a students money for the application/fee & 1 later say we are all filled. Why is the application still open and why did you take my money? This whole process is wild sometimes. And another reason why being low SES is a road block.

ACOG is willing to say what a lot of medical organizations are not. There is a bill in Congress to ban DEI in medicine, and most of these orgs are silent. Kudos to ACOG.

Looking back on my path to medicine, from a makeshift MCAT study plan, to not being sure if I should even apply, to not being sure if I can even pass first year, to step 1 stress etc. seeing that I am less than 365 days from an M.D. is truly astonishing. Don’t let the doubt win.

I have this post-it (& a bunch of others) on my mirror to say out loud every morning so I remember to remain in alignment with my purpose, vision, and values. I will ALWAYS be pro-humanity. I will always be moved to action by what I feel in my heart.
