Marathon number 9 done. Last year was a year of PBs. This year has been a year of cake so not as fast but got myself round faster than I did 2 years ago on the same course. Now for some rest and think about the next challenge.

One of my favourite things about living where I do is the seasonal postbox outfits.

I've just seen this after reading that a woman who tried to register for the Boston Marathon in the 60s was told women are physiologically unable to run marathon distances. Clearly the author of that letter was correct, we're better suited to more challenging distances!

Academia is strange. Get enough publications in the right journals and you'll be allowed to lead a team. No one checks whether you have the skills to lead a team, of course, why would they? You've published in journals. This should work out just fine.
