Congratulations to past FPM dean Teddy Tingley who is the new director of professional affairs for Faculty of Pain Med, maintaining his involvement with the faculty. I'd like to also extend my gratitude to former DPA Prof Milton Cohen for his enormous contribution over the past 12 years.
Good luck to all Faculty of Pain Med candidates sitting the fellowship exam today. I know you are all more than prepared. Do yourself proud.
What a week! We wrapped up our Faculty of Pain Med tour yesterday in Christchurch. It was wonderful to meet Faculty of Pain Med fellows & leaders across the country and to discuss the new model of care. We have a long road ahead, but we are on the way.
An important stop on our Faculty of Pain Med NZ roadshow on Wednesday in Wellington meeting with researchers & health professionals using a whānau pain management programme. We saw this in action at the Kokiri Marae pain clinic with Cheryl Davies and @hemdevan.
Yesterday we headed to #Wellington bright and early to speak to the Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora. We heard feedback from the Ministry about the new pain medicine model of care & the value of a strong multidisciplinary team. Faculty of Pain Med Leone English
We kicked off our Faculty of Pain Med NZ roadshow yesterday in #Auckland at TARPS & Hamilton pain services. We had open discussions about the NZ health system changes & the need for more pain medicine trainees to meet #ChronicPainPatients demand. A multidisciplinary team is critical.
Another Faculty of Pain Med long-case assessment is being held today in WA. I wish all candidates the very best and thank our wonderful examiners for their hard work!
