I truly thought I'd seen every reaction to installation of bike lanes, but how wrong I was. I did a double take, I thought the headline was from The Onion

Is there anything even close in recent American history where this many resources and news time was devoted to a 'single' traffic event? Not the airport/flights, but car/streets/surface roads/parking?

*sigh* It seems that, in an attempt to counter consumer concerns about power and range, advertising has gone all in on advertising that further sells speed, dominance, and false promises of traffic-free roads. Sure would love if we regulated this stuff.

I am looking forward to reading the studies that come out of studying the eclipse traffic. What can we learn from big events like this on how to do better, whether that's mode shift, safety, or disaster evac?

I know I could find this online, but twxtter is faster - were there any bus lines or other public transit that used the Key Bridge? I'd also be curious if it had a higher percentage of ride hail than other bridge or the tunnel.

Safety-critical systems should not be allowed to be deployed and tested on the road the same way that DQ increases sales with free cone day

Question: when you see the term 'feasibility study ' in a transportation planning or engineering context, what do you think it means? And for those who use it (are doing them), what does it mean?

(There isn't one right answer, I'm curious about the range of potential amswers)

'billions must be spent on improvements that benefit pedestrians with disabilities: curb ramps, roads designed to slow traffic, safer street crossings and more accessible sidewalks. If we are safer, everyone is safer, and that includes automobile drivers.'

I deleted that post with the photo because it isn't worth it. I will reiterate the point, however: We design vehicles like living rooms, build infra to support it, and don't regulate tech. So people act that way. *And put other people's lives in danger.*
