Project #Gemini is often not given the same coverage as 1st US human spaceflights (Mercury), or flights to the #Moon ( #Apollo ), but it provided crucial foundations for lunar exploration & future #NASA spaceflight (everything from how to do rendezvous & docking to EVA/Spacewalks).

60 years ago on #TDIH , the uncrewed Gemini I mission was launched and successfully orbited the Earth. As a result of the test, the Titan II rocket was considered safe for use in human spaceflight.
