Had enough of the cold? You'll like next week's outlook. Warmer than normal temps are favored for the entire Lower 48, per NOAA’s NWS Climate Prediction Center.

Most of the Lower 48 looks wet too, especially the Southern US. Drier for the N. Plains and a bit of CA.

The Colorado River provides water to over 40M people in the Southwest. In an avg year, over 50% of this water comes from melting snow in western CO.

ColoClimateCenter researchers found ways to improve forecasts of this critical water supply.

Next week looks cold (really frigid) and dry for much of the Lower 48, according to NOAA’s NWS Climate Prediction Center.

One exception includes CA, where a large part leans warm and wet. Also potential for relatively wet weather in the Northwest, N. Rockies, FL, and S. TX.

1st Drought Update of the New Year 🎉

Not much has changed from last week. Drought conditions have persisted because the state missed out on beneficial rains. Good news - there is rain in the forecast. Hopefully we will see needed relief. DroughtReach
