RLNI FACT: Ramsgate’s first motor lifeboat arrived on 30th. December 1925. Its cost was funded by the Prudential Assurance Company and, consequentially, named “Prudential”. It had a top speed of around 8 or 9 knots (approx. 10 m.p.h.) which remained the top 1/2

Among Britain’s many legendary wartime heroes, Medway has one very special Heroine who celebrates her 100th anniversary this year-Heroine of Dunkirk, Medway Queen.

Last night we attended the 55th Fitting Out Supper with the Association of Dunkirk Little Ships. We received “awards” for being caught in the rain at the Veterans Cruise 2022 and getting a rope round our prop when leaving the Thames Tradition Boat Festival in 2023! Dunkirk Little Ships

Someone placed parts of Winston Churchill’s famous speech, on the 4th June 1940, with the soundtrack of Dunkirk.

This speech being to the House of Commons, on the last day of the Dunkirk evacuation.

It’s very beautifully put together.
