The total paybill for the civil service is around £14b. Even if the govt was to cut the numbers claimed, this would only amount to around 10% of that £14b. Maybe the PM is right to focus on Maths curriculum - just a pity he’s cutting the Department for Education. 6/6

The civil service is only around 10% of the entire public sector and the annual pay bill is around £14b. Not sure anything announced up until now on headcount reduction makes much of a dent in £75b.

Again I've long warned UK had become 85% dependent on EU hauliers/driver accompanied RoRo services. Now need for driver *unaccompanied* services/ports.
