Tories for a month: BUUUURN ANGELA RAYNER!!!!!

Grant Shapps this morning to Kay Burley: “There’s a process in this country where one is innocent until proven guilty - not guilty simply because an allegation is made.”

Provided “one” is not a working class woman, evidently.

Calling all UK university staff who teach, & who are about to start being coached, to take part in a PhD study.
I’m exploring how coaching can be used as a form of compassionate practice in order to resist toxicity in UK universities. Please contact me via email in reply. No DMs

A5 Also really think through the experience of failure, hear from students who've failed. What was it like to hear the news, how did they hear it, what support is available, were they informed about their options?

A5 Involve your local disability services staff and one or two disabled students to spot (often accidental) discrimination & identify where flexibility would help eg students with fluctuating conditions

A4 I really enjoyed reading about the 'unessay' in this: students have agency to choose topic and medium openjournals.bsu.edu/teachinghistor…

A3 I think it's about a mutual recognition of humanity, remembering that both students and teachers are people first. And perhaps not leaning into unequal power relationships

Morning! Started with my homemade brown bread (oddly shaped but still delicious), now off to campus for a day of meetings including admissions & my new CPD portfolio, and a team lunch 👍☕

In this thread, I'm going to discuss the Cass Review's claim about brain maturation continuing past the late teens into the mid-20s. To be clear, there are actually two separate claims involved. (2/23)

So, yeah. Definitely get a second opinion. But also, let’s shift this off patients and onto doctors. Listen to your patients. If you don’t know or understand something, ask for a second opinion yourself. GP surgeries generally have several doctors on staff.
