Wednesday afternoons are Book Club afternoons & today I finished 'My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece' by Annabel Pitcher.
Well. I hope the Book Club boys were too engrossed in their own books to notice my snivelling. What a gorgeous, heartbreaking, uplifting read.

Now my two are a bit older, I kind of wish this happens each time we board a flight. I'd be delighted for some grumpy non-mover to entertain my kids & have to reach into the overhead locker 27372712 times a flight for snacks & toys - all while I enjoy a hot coffee in peace🤣

Mine is that the Macbeths always refer to the monarchy as the 'crown' - a costume you can take on and off -- whereas Malcolm/Macduff always call it the Throne -- something to which you rightfully ascend.

(I think Malcolm only calls it the Crown once he becomes king, go figure)

I don't get why people spend an awful lot of time concocting April Fools jokes for social media. It was 'just a bit of fun' 10 years ago when folk genuinely fell for it, but now? It's ten layers of toe-curling cringe.

This has to be an early April Fools. The bribery aside (!) I've been transported to circa 2009 where boys need FUN! and COMPETITION! to succeed. Surely no-one believes this tripe anymore?!

Lots of discussion about Eng marking - is it mock season?!
Interested in the diff between Eng boards & CCEA. We still have CA; we don't have the same no. of exams. I've always been pro get-rid-of-CA but I didn't think about mock marking. How many essays per paper for Eng boards?
