People email me multiple times within hours with demands that are not urgent. Meeting requests have ballooned to the point where I might spend an entire day on Zoom. Layers of bureaucracy have increased. I am much “busier” than I was in 2019, but doing far less actual *work*.

A big lesson of COVID was that we all need to slow down, and that our expectations around work were not sustainable, especially without support. So why does it feel like, four years in, there are even higher expectations and greater demands for instant availability?
