Enzo had his best performance of the season (Liverpool in August) with Gallagher next to him and now Caicedo doing the same today.

Two games of very different styles and proportions, but the principle is the same. Gallagher makes everyone around him better.

Instead, let them figure it out on the pitch. If Palmer is our alpha, he will make that known loud and clear. And he has in this instance.

Noni and Nico are also competitors, so it's normal they wanted to score too.

Being the leader, Gallagher did the right thing to step in.

If Pochettino had a pre-determined lineup favouring one 21-year-old over another, there is going to be grumbles everywhere.

'Why him? Why not me?'

'Palmer took the first penalty, never missed, what if I had taken that?'

You don't want all this toxicity.

Gallagher is the leader if our team. I don't know if you noticed it, but when there's an issue on the pitch, our players first turn towards him. That's how you know his standing. Our technical leaders are Enzo/Cole of course.

Good that he stepped in.

Cole Palmer has scored more PL goals than Kai Havertz did in 3 seasons COMBINED for Chelsea.*

There, fixed it. Just so that there is no confusion.

ExpectedChelsea I wonder if Chelsea fans nowadays remember when Drogba, Lampard, Anelka, and even Torres used to quibble over who got to take the penalty. Pretty normal, though this is a bit stupider than those cases.

(as an added bonus this is exceptionally funny to watch)

Let them argue. It's fine. They are young and competitive men, this is how they grow.

Great to see Palmer show leadership here as well.
