#FIUReopening - These are 4 types/modalities for classes come fall semester:
In-Person: Regular class meeting on campus.
Remote: Zoom meetings at a set date/time off-campus.
Hybrid: A blend of remote and in-person.
Online: Classes you take at your own pace off-campus.

#FIUReopening - In-Person: This will be the least common type of class. These take place in a classroom adapted for physical distancing. You will be required to wear a face-covering while you are taking a class on campus. These courses don’t have a distance learning fee.

#FIUReopening - Remote: This will be the most common type of class. Courses meet virtually at a set date/time using a video conferencing app like Zoom. You don’t need to come to campus, and there is no additional distance learning fee for remote classes

#FIUReopening - Hybrid: These meet remotely (Zoom) and on-campus in a reconfigured classroom with physical distancing. You will be required to wear a facial covering and fill out the P3 app (details soon) before coming to campus. Hybrid courses don’t have a distance learning fee.

#FIUReopening - Online: Courses are developed maximizing the use of communication/multimedia. There is a distance learning fee of $30 per credit for online classes. Assignments have due dates but you don't need to attend class at a fixed date/time, unlike remote or in-person.

#FIUReopening - Classes and modalities are available now. Check your student portal (My FIU). Check periodically before the fall semester starts to make sure the course modality hasn’t changed.

#FIUReopening - Will campus be full of people? No. To promote safety, very few in-person classes will be offered. Everyone will be required to wear a facial covering and fill out the P3 app (coming soon) before coming to campus. On the bright side, you will find easy parking!

August 13th-23rd from 9am-7pm. You can sign up for a 1-hour moving slot through the MyFIU portal. Housing & ResLife

Yes, we anticipate all housing to be occupied. Space has been set aside on Univ. Apts. to isolate those who test positive.
