No leaves or chlorophyll are visible on Hydnora africana plants. The plants only become visible when the flowers protrude through the soil after good rains have fallen. Under favourable conditions it takes at least one year for a bud to develop into a mature flower.

The Arabian sand boa, scientifically known as Eryx jayakari, is an unusual snake native to Iran, featuring exceptionally tiny eyes situated atop its head.

Divers made an amazing discovery in the waters off the northeast coast of Taiwan: an enormous deep sea oarfish.

Take a look at this Phalera genus moth. It remarkably resembles a broken twig, complete with chipped bark and layered wood tissue at the 'cut' ends, effectively imitating a broken piece of wood to avoid predation.

Si jamais vous n’aviez jamais vu une physalies bouger. Celle-ci je l’ai filmée hier-soir à Bidart, échouée aux Embruns. Il y avait deux petits poissons piégés dans ses tentacules.
Fascinantes couleurs, ces créatures sont néanmoins dangereuses. Prudence !
