Hello Tom Hunt MP. As you clearly have an interest in the criminal justice system, can I ask:
🔷When did you last attend a Crown Court?
🔷What “pitiful” sentences did you witness?
🔷Did sentencing really strike you as the most pressing issue facing the criminal justice system?
I am told that last Monday, the MoJ quietly announced there would be 82,300 sitting days for 2019/2020, a 16% cut from this year’s (awful) 97,400. In 2015 it was 113,966. Ministry of Justice can you please confirm these figures? If this is right, it is very bad news indeed.
