Our bread pudding is the best bread pudding. Shahi Tukra (“royal piece”). It’s always been a special Ramadan/Eid dish. It was developed by the Mughals I think and is a signature dessert in Hyderabad. Generous amounts of saffron, cardamom, and almonds. #EidMubarak #EidAlFitr

🧵As part of the Covid memorial I am creating, my poem will betranslated into 7 languages. One of those is Urdu.

Urdu was the language of my grandfather & I know there will be something profoundly affecting about seeing it carved into stone.

My family faced unimaginable racism, it tore us apart, and I can't quite put into words how much it will mean to see Urdu as an enduring part of Scotland's landscapes. And I get to to place that stone. Feels very healing.
