The event effects the entire crew of the ship.
Once they're out of it they wind up having grown extremely fat, and although their minds return to normal, the tattoo and the weight remains. It is ambiguously implied that this space cloud is canonically Glaz 🦊💚 (Closed for coms) 's cosmic form.

And then theres the Immortal Family and the crew of the Big Bertha in the distant future. They end up flying through a mysterious space cloud which causes them to develop strange tattoos that briefly alter their minds causing them to gorge on food until they're out of the cloud.

Liam now works at the Flab Shack which is now owned by Fattoid. He, Sam and FA are in an undefined romantic relationship of some kind.

Liam turned out to be the son of a crime lord and inherited the syndicate, which he used to kidnap Chiin and FA after they cut Fattoids ties to the black market.

They were eventually rescued by a certain time manipulating Cu Sith, and Liam and FA resolved their issues.

After FA discovered fattoid and gained fattoid powers, he went on a rampage and used his powers to fatten up a lot of people unwillingly. At the end of this crusade, he visited Sam and Liam again and gave them both fattoid laced kisses, making them grow to be as fat as he was.

During that summer, FA fell in love with two of the beaches lifeguards, Samara and Liam. He had romantic and intimate interactions with both of them before they wound up dating each other, leaving him as a third wheel.

He gained so much weight because he worked a summer job at a beach snack shack called The Flab Shack. It's said the place was cursed, causing anyone who worked there to gain weight until they either quit or were forced to be let go for health or mobility reasons...

FA's real name is Erik. He got so fat his senior year of high school that everyone began calling him Fat Ass, and later shortened it to FA. No one at his school remembered his real name.

He is still at large and is one of the secret bosses behind the creation of Puffzonium.

Oh yeah, the guy that killed his ex is a shape-shifter and used to have a crush on the ex. He would shape-shifting into how he imagined Chiin would look in the present - based on an old picture of Chiin that the ex kept from when they were children.

Also Chiin met his current partner, Len because Len bought a house made of candy and ate the whole thing and was placed in Fattoid's rehab program where Chiin personally worked with him to get him back to a mobile size...there's more I could say, but I'll leave things there.

Then Akira finds his father's diary and learns that it was kinda Chiins fault the triplets' mom got killed, which...becomes the catalyst for his villain Arc.

He doesn't know which one tho. Well, he thinks it's Cecile, but it's actually Akira who grows to resent his father...specifically because Cecile gets babies too much because Chiin thinks he's the threat...
