Today, Samantha Power and Dept. of Agriculture's Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that they will begin using $1B in Commodity Credit Corporation funding to purchase, ship, and distribute agricultural commodities from American farmers to support people facing food insecurity around the world.

The US is working to alleviate staggering global hunger needs – and American farmers are crucial to that effort. USAID is collaborating with Dept. of Agriculture to purchase, ship, & distribute surplus food supplies to those who need it around the world.
