I read a post today that said something like ‘in order to claim your own humanity you will need to move beyond the idea that you are either good or bad’ and I’ve never heard that phrased in that way before but I love it

You show me someone bloody minded and I will show you someone who has needed to be to survive. This is important because if you are a very determined person, ask yourself if you have needed to be. Our determined parts need compassion and understanding too.

The reason that not emotionally or spiritually bypassing what is unfair, unloving, neglectful, or injurious is important is because it’s hard for us to create change if we are still in needing to bypass this or redefine it out of existence. Eg hard to get a better prison system
