New data from Copernicus ECMWF shows that we've now had:

- the eighth record breaking month in a row and

- twelve months (Feb 23-Jan 24) with global temperatures more than 1.5ºC above the pre-industrial reference baseline.

New #AIFS blog: the latest version of our AIFS #MachineLearning model now runs at a horizontal resolution of 30 km and has an updated architecture. It improves forecast scores, especially for surface variables, where resolution is crucial. ➡️ ecmwf.int/en/about/media…

2023 marks the first time on record that every day within a year has exceeded 1°C above the 1850-1900 pre-industrial level for that time of year.

Close to 50% of days were more than 1.5°C warmer than the 1850-1900 level, and two days in November were, more than 2°C warmer.
