Happy #ArborDay ! Mrs. Ford planted a tree on the North Lawn of the White House to honor the American Bicentennial on Oct. 20, 1975. The seedling was specially cultivated from an American Elm planted by Pres. Adams, which was the oldest and tallest tree on the White House grounds.

Happy #NationalPetDay ! The Ford family acquired Liberty, a Golden Retriever, as a puppy in the fall of 1974. She grew up in the White House and even gave birth to her first litter of puppies there.
