Every child deserves the gift of speech, and as a speech and language therapist they are always doing their best.

But it’s not always easy convincing parents who see their child speaking to continue therapy.

Fragile X Syndrome is a genetic disorder which causes intellectual disabilities in children. It is the only known single-gene cause of Autism. ⁠While there is no cure for Fragile X, an accurate diagnosis opens doors for the child and the family.
⁠

Children with Fragile X syndrome and ASD are visual learners, which is why it’s important to support their learning with visual tools and resources.

My biggest tip to families is to start thinking visually and that will empower them on what all their children need.
